We always find something interesting on nature walks.Can you believe it is almost time to start a new school year?  We couldn't be more excited to welcome back old friends and meet new friends.  This year is going to be filled with learning and fun! What kind of fun?  Check this out!

More ducklings are expected in the next three weeks!

We are keeping so many of the traditions we love:  Teddybear Tuesdays and Wordle Wednesdays, dogs and ducklings, an autumn trip to Appleland Station, inviting friends and family to Presentation Days, ice-skating and tobogganing during winter recesses.  But we are also excited to try some new things.  

We are pleased to have a new music teacher join us each week for Music Mondays!  She will provide group music theory lessons on Monday afternoons and is available for private piano, saxophone and recorder lessons.  We are looking forward to hearing the kids practice in their free time!

Visual ArtsOur first learning Session will focus on "Community".  We will explore how a group of people share responsibilities and make decisions.  As part of this session we will plan one community service project.  Other sessions this year will include Cooking (in partnership with a local restaraunt), Ocean Habitats (with a field trip to the Aquarium in the works), Asian Geography, Sculptures, and more! 

We will also build on the things we did last year.  For example, now that our students are comfortable coding with Scratch, we can incorporate animations and games into each Presentation Day.  Now that they are familiar with the sign language alphabet, we can use this skill to help us with our spelling.  Best of all, because we know what a growth mindset is, and how to set SMART goals, we are going to approach this new year with enthusiasm determination, and wonder!
